Lviv is a much different atmosphere than Kiev. Where Kiev was more like a big city, Lviv is just a big, yet quaint town. Some things that define Lviv are the streets which are all cobblestone and more pedestrian friendly. Most of the buildings still maintain their historical charm and character unlike Kiev which was partially rebuilt by the Communists during World War II.

Oh, and most of the women wear high heels despite the cobblestone. Here is one of the more eccentric examples.

There are no subways - only cable cars above ground.

There are lots of beautiful buildings and Churches... here are some pictures I took on the bus tour this morning.

Tonight we ate at a Restaurant that modeled after a bunker during the Ukraine Revolution. Let me tell you... don't mess with a Ukrainian revolutionist. We had to knock on this heavy wooden door (very unassuming) which was opened by an "armed" guard carrying a machine gun who asked us for the password. We found out it was "Glory to Ukraine!" or something like that. He then made us each down a shot all from the same cup as a welcome in. The room we ate in looked like a bunker with news clippings all over the wall. The menu was tradition Ukrainian food so I got cabbage dumplings (not too shabby) and some other girls got a half meter long sausage! Becky ate most of it (the girl in the red hair)... I'm so proud.

Goodnight everyone! I will try to update in the Carpathian Mountains tomorrow but no promises. I'm not sure if we'll have wi-fi but I'll try!
