These big sticks called hops are used to grow beer!

The bus was too big to fit on the roads up here so we had to walk up this cobble stone road while another car brought our luggage... it was an adventure. But we finally got to the town! We were all really excited about how cute it was.

This is our hotel in all it's awesomeness.

Our room.

The courtyard outside our door.

We decided to walk around until our guide got there for the city tour.

Dean Curtis wanted a picture of all the music majors with our guide. He was an absolute horrible guide who would barely speak English, but it was a cool picture anyway!

The view from our room... sigh...

The next morning we made our way to Hungary. It was our longest day of driving (8 hrs) so none of us were too excited, but I had brought a couple books and my laptop so I would stay occupied.
Hungary is very flat with lots of commercial farmland - very different from Romania where most farmland was owned by an individual or family and was much smaller.

It is definitely a richer country and most people live in little neighborhoods with paved roads and moderately large homes.
This was my first Hungarian meal - pork stuffed with mushrooms and sheep cheese and mashed potatoes!

More pictures of our beautiful hotel later!! Off to a carriage ride!
